Tony Blair, the former prime minister, warned regarding Britain’s future in the European Union, that the country will face a risk if it edged toward leaving its regional alliance while power shifts to emerging economies. Speaking in London, Tony Blair argued about his country’s place in the bloc saying that the European Union was important because it helped Britain leverage its influence within a changed geopolitical landscape. Britons have not been enthusiastic about European integration but, lately, talks over Britain’s relationship with the European Union have geared up. Tony Blair was questioned by critics, telling his reliability at home had been dented by his interest in the Iraq attack, and because he had been active for euro membership, which has gone through a debt crisis.

Taking Control of Your Life
Problems rarely affect only one area of a person’s life. Often, when you’re having problems in one area of your life, such as problems resulting from too much stress, things spiral downward on multiple fronts. Financial problems lead to erosion of quality of family life as you are totally occupied with making the ends meet month to month. And wealthy people are not free from stress either because in their case, stress arises from constant monitoring of mortal enemies, fighting the government on taxes, fighting litigation from claims on wealth, and attacks on reputation. Irrespective of where you are in life, you may begin to feel like your life is totally out of control.
The reason you feel out of control is that you don’t know what to do about your problems and may feel that the problems have gotten bigger than you and can’t be solved. Focusing too much on what you don’t have is counterproductive because it leads to lack of action or even depression, so first write down what it is that you really want. Mead did not believe that personality was developed by drives or biologically, but more on terms socially. He stated that the self only developed when people interact with one another.
Without the interaction of other people an individual can’t develop a personality. An example of this is if a child is left in total isolation for a long period of time then they don’t mature both physically or mentally. Next, social experience is crucial, and this includes the exchange of symbols.
Only people attach meanings to words and symbols. If you tell a dog to sit and it obeys then you may give it a snack. However, this doesn’t mean it knows why to sit down, but it does so to get food. You can tell a dog to sit for numerous of reasons such as wanting to impress your friends, or to calm it down because it is running all over the place. Also, Mead noted that understanding individual intentions is critical. This will help us to analyze how an individual will respond even before we act. Continue reading
